How does the process straighten your uneven smile? Since we don’t need braces, we will use a series of clear and cozy plastic aligners, all custom-made for your bite. To begin, we will take images and impressions of your bite with digital systems to assess the cause and severity of your misalignment, so we can decide if this is the best route for you. If so, we will use the images and measurements taken in a dental lab setting to design and craft your orthodontics, each set in the series custom-made to ensure a proper bite and treatment with precision.
On average, metal braces require about two years to see optimal results, while clear aligners could offer straighter smiles in as little as one year. The system gently repositions the teeth and helps you see results in a shorter time frame. You will wear a set for about 20 to 23 hours a day, only removing them for meals, brushing and flossing your teeth, and special occasions. You do this for two weeks, and then start wearing the next set in the series for the same amount of time, continuing the process as your smile is gently repositioned and strengthened. By undergoing care, this helps improve the beauty of your smile and also fights complications like TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding).
Following your treatment experience, you will likely wear a mouthguard at night to ensure the results stay strong as your jawbone forms around the new positions of your teeth to make your new results permanent. You will enjoy a renewed confidence in your smile and also better oral health as a result, as you can more easily brush and floss your teeth. We will want to see you for routine checkups and cleanings too, so we monitor your new smile and keep it strong and healthy!
