Treating Misalignment With Removable Aligners

When you have dental misalignment, this could impact the health, beauty, and function of your smile. But we could offer a solution with a barely visible solution, one that unlike metal braces, can be removed before meals! In today’s blog, Dr. Robert M. Browne talks about how we treat poor alignment with removable aligners.

The Benefits of Finally Correcting Your Smile

If you have an uneven smile, this can make thorough brushing and flossing a difficult process, which in turn increases the risk of tooth decay and infection. You could also develop gingivitis and gum disease! Misalignment could also upset your bite balance and as a result, leave you vulnerable to TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding). You could also feel embarrassed about your appearance, which impacts your overall quality of life. But with our orthodontic clear aligners, we have a way to address your uneven teeth and provide an even and beautiful smile, one that makes you feel confident.

Our Orthodontic Clear Aligners

With this option, we will craft a series of clear aligners to shift your teeth, no need for metal brackets or wires. With this treatment option, we will take images and measurements of your smile and use them to craft 3D impressions. Experts in a lab setting then employ the images and impressions we made to design and craft your orthodontics from a clear acrylic material, ensuring a custom and comfortable fit and treatment with recession.

You will wear a set of them for about 20 to 23 hours a day over a period of two weeks, and then repeat the process with the subsequent sets, as your smile is gently corrected in as little as a year for some patients. The process also means fewer office visits compared to braces.

Removable Orthodontics

Along with being practically invisible, these aligners will also be removable. They are not fixed to your teeth like braces, so you can take your orthodontics out before you eat. Being removable means you have an easier time with meals, no worries about objects being stuck in braces. Being removable also means a much simpler time brushing and flossing, so you can better protect your smile from cavities and stains. Finally, you can take them out for special occasions, as long as you always wear them for the minimum amount of time we prescribe.
