Our team will look at your teen’s smile to see if they are ready, and if this is the right option for them. All of their permanent teeth need to have erupted, and the surfaces of them properly calcified. We also want to make sure they don’t have misalignment too severe for aligners. If not, then they could receive a clear and comfortable approach to orthodontic treatment.
Our team will use advanced digital imaging to take several images of the bite from multiple angles, and combine them to craft a 3D impression, one far more accurate than a traditional physical mold. We next send this information to experts, who will use the images and impressions to design and craft a series of aligners made specifically for their smiles, ensuring treatment with comfort and precision.
When the orthodontic sets are ready, your teen can start treatment. They will wear a set from the series of them for two weeks. In that time, each one is worn for about 20 to 23 hours a day. These clear aligners will fit comfortably and help shift your teeth closer and closer to their optimal positions. The process could take about a year to 18 months to complete, depending on the extent of your teen’s alignment concerns. These are easy to soak and clean too, and being removeable means you can eat without worry about food particles being trapped in metal orthodontics, or the need to avoid certain foods. Being removeable also makes it much easier to brush and floss, as you don’t have to work around metal braces, so you can better protect your smile from tooth decay, gum disease, and even teeth stains throughout the treatment journey.
