Ready To Try Clear Aligners in 2026?

If you have lived with dental misalignment, then you may feel uncomfortable with the appearance of your smile. You could also assume metal braces are the only option available to you. But with clear aligners, we can help teens and adults alike! In today’s blog, your Prairie Village, KS, dentist talks about clear aligner treatment in 2026.

The Need for Treating Misalignment

Obviously, when you have dental misalignment, this means negative impacts on the appearance of your smile and your level of confidence. But did you know this also impacts the health of your smile? Poor alignment means brushing and flossing is more difficult, and that particles of sugar and starch could become trapped between the teeth beyond the reach of your floss and toothbrush. This is a recipe for painful tooth decay and even a greater risk of gum disease! The strain on your bite could also leave you vulnerable to uncomfortable complications like TMJ disorder and even bruxism (teeth grinding). But with orthodontic clear aligners, we can help you start your journey now so that 2026 is the year you finally obtain an even smile!

Crafting Your Custom and Clear Orthodontics

The treatment system will use a series of clear and comfortable aligners to help correct smiles, often in as little as one year. The key to the success of this system is the fact that each set in the series is made specifically for your smile. To begin, our team will use an intraoral camera to quickly and comfortably obtain a series of detailed and high-definition images of your bite from multiple angles. With this information, we can then design and craft your orthodontics in a lab setting. When they are ready, you start the treatment process!

The Treatment Process

Each set in the series will be worn for about 20 to 23 hours a day on average, and each set in the series is for about a two-week period. The process will continue for about a year in most cases, but results could take as long as 18 months for some patients, still a shorter time than braces usually require. The aligners are also removable, so you can take them out before you eat, which means no need to alter your diet. Being removable also means a much easier time brushing and flossing, so you can better protect your smile during treatment.
